What work do you do?

Jesus was totally intent on doing one thing -- the work his Father had sent him to do.

We all have work to do...but, are we satisfied doing the work that God has called us to?  If Jesus could do nothing by himself, what does that say about us?

I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me.  John 6:38 NIV
 In John 5:19-20  (NIV) Jesus gave the disciples this answer... “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. 20 For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, and he will show him even greater works than these, so that you will be amazed.

In the Gospels, we read that some people asked Jesus, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?” (John 6:28).

Wow! They were feeling pretty important, because ... Only God can do the works of God!
Jesus’ answer instructs us all: “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent” (v.29).

Whatever we have to do, then, whether teaching a Sunday school class, leading a small group, telling the gospel story to our neighbor, or preaching to thousands, or sharing with one - it must be done by faith. There is no other way to “work the works of God.”

Our responsibility is to serve God faithfully, wherever He has placed us. Then we are to leave the results to Him. As Jesus reminded His disciples in John 15:5, “Without Me you can do nothing.”

The work of the Lord for us has been done— Jesus has paid the supreme sacrifice;

Our service for God has only begun— And nothing we do can help pay the price. —Hess

 Christ’s work on the cross equips us to do good works for Him.

And it goes without saying...I'm just Sayin'

See You Soon....Kelly
